When JP Williams moved to Nashville, he showed up like so many others---with little more than a guitar in hand and big dreams to make it as a songwriter. However, few others who make the bold move to Music City are completely blind. JP, born prematurely with partial vision in one eye, totally lost his sight at age 10 and learned early in life that you don't have to see to believe.

Before permanently relocating, JP traveled to Nashville every other week from Atlanta, where he gigged and taught music for a living. "I'd come to town for co-writing appointments by way of tour bus...a tour bus I shared with 60 other people. Go Greyhound!"

JP's stint in Atlanta came after graduation from the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, where he earned his music degree and a lot of stripes playing with a popular party band. ("We were famous in a three zip code area.") After college, JP built his solo artist resume, including openers for Charlie Daniels, Ricky Skaggs, Randy Travis and Jo Dee Messina, as well as a headliner spot for a college tour singing his original tunes for students throughout the Northeastern U.S."

After gigging on the road, I was ready to move to Nashville and focus on songwriting."As a Nashville songwriter, JP's earned a category win in the International Songwriting Competition, landed a #1 cut on the southern gospel chart, been a featured artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., played in Ireland for Budget Travel Magazine and enjoyed every minute of what he calls 'songwriting school.' He signed with Major Bob Music in 2011.

Today, JP draws on his unique experiences, individual perspective and faith in God to write songs that cross genres with rich melodies, vivid stories and lots of soul.
